Prof. (Dr.) S. P. Singh is a distinguished academician, institution builder, and visionary leader. Prof. Singh brings over 35 years of experience in teaching, research, training, academic administration, and institutional leadership. Of these, he has served almost 24 years as the Head of Institutions, including more than 11 years as Vice-Chancellor of leading universities across India.
An accomplished scholar and internationally recognised academic leader, Prof. Singh is a U.S. Fulbright Fellow and a researcher dedicated to creating social impact. His multidisciplinary academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Strategic Management, a master’s degree in Geology and Business Management, along with a Law (LL.B.) degree. Prof. Singh also qualified CSIR-UGC NET for Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences and the UGC-NET in Management, reflecting his diverse academic pursuits and unwavering commitment to excellence through multidisciplinary education.
Prof. Singh's illustrious career includes serving as Director of Sherwood College of Management, Vice Chairman of the Sherwood Group, Founding Director of the Royal Group of Institutions, Senior Vice President of the Amity Education Group, Founding Vice-Chancellor of Amity University Chhattisgarh, and Founding Vice-Chancellor of The Assam Royal Global University, where he led the institution for nearly eight years. He also served as the Founding D.G (Vice-Chancellor) of Kaushalya – The Skill University, Govt. of Gujarat, for a period of two years before joining “Tribhuvan” Sahkari University in July 2026. Throughout his career, he has played a transformative role in establishing, nurturing, and strengthening higher education institutions across the country.
Beyond his institutional leadership, Prof. Singh has served on several prestigious academic and statutory bodies, including the Academic Council of Uttar Pradesh Technical University, the Executive Council of Dibrugarh University, the Equivalence Committee, and the Executive Council of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). He currently serves as the Honorary Global Vice President of Sun Moon University, South Korea.
As the founding Vice-Chancellor of "Tribhuvan" Sahkari University, Prof. Singh is leading the University's mission to emerge as a globally recognised centre of excellence in cooperative education, research, innovation, skill development, and capacity building, along with integrating rural development, rural management, and agri-business management for sustainable and inclusive growth of Bharat. Under his leadership, the University is laying a strong foundation to create a transformative ecosystem of knowledge, leadership, and institutional excellence that empowers communities, strengthens institutions, and advances inclusive socio-economic development. Guided by the national vision of 'Sahkar Se Samriddhi', he is steering the University towards nurturing future-ready professionals, advancing interdisciplinary research and innovation, promoting entrepreneurship, and building institutional capacities that contribute to nation-building and the realization of Viksit Bharat.
